Integration of Treatment council to The Danish Healthcare Quality Institute (DHQI) - Impacting Medtech and Diagnostics

The integration of the Treatment Council (Behandlingsrådet) into the Danish Healthcare Quality Institute (DHQI) provides an important development for Medtech and Diagnostics.
The DHQI has a broader scope, including:
- Clinical Guidelines
- Evaluations
- Clinical Quality Registries
With this combined responsibility, one could anticipate/hope there will be a broader utilisation of real-world data to inform the evaluations.
Status of all initiated evaluations by Treatment council:
Recommended:
- rTMS for resistant depression
- Non-operative treatment of distal radius fractures (>65)
- Sensor-based diabetes tech (CGM alarms)
- Home NIV for COPD patients
Partial recommendation:

Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) treatment
Not recommended:
- Internet CBT for depression (iKAT)
- Handheld ultrasound in acute care
- AI decision support in colonoscopy
- High-tech hospital beds
- Non-arthroscopic partial meniscus resection
- Optune for Gliobastoma
